I have to brag a little….Our 10-year-old grandson shot a 22-pound turkey with a 9.5-inch beard during Youth season. It was his first shot with a shotgun! Everyone was happy. I think I may have been happier than him!!
Due to one group needs to change their dates I have the last two weekends in April open!! Get together with your group/family/friends and book a fun trip to LINGERS GUIDE SERVICE & FISHING LODGE…..Water levels are great and the fish biting very well…..spinning, fly rod your choice….fishing has been great!
These are photographs of our deer camp with my family and my lease members. We finally got back after 12 days and are headed back this weekend for a special Youth Hunt and some bow hunting. I got a nice buck, and my grandson got a nice deer. All had fun. Think about that Winter trip to LINGERS’S GUIDE SERVICE & FISHING LODGE. THE WATER LEVELS ARE JUST RIGHT TO CATCH ALL THE FISH YOU WOULD WANT TO!!!
It was Youth Turkey Season, and we had a couple of warriors! One you can see never left camp and the other warrior took a little nap while I was calling. Guess my calling was pretty boring.
My youth bride Nancy sat quietly by as I tried to trick the Wiley gobbler down the hill but to no avail! We are back to a robust schedule of fishing, and they are biting!! Caught 27 in an hour and 50 minutes yesterday!! Enjoy the fun at lingers guide service & fishing lodge, don’t wait, contact me today and book some Summer fun in the Arkansas Ozarks!!
In between river and lake fishing we found some time to take advantage of the Pheasants, Chukars and Quail at Feathers and Gun Powder! Fun was had by all and I can sadly report that some of our feathered friends got away due to less than perfect shooting. Come enjoy the fun at LINGER’S GUIDE SERVICE & FISHING LODGE!!
This was definitely the best Turkey hunting experience my wife Nancy and I have ever had. wowsliderFor a change, my turkey calling seemed to actually mean something to the turkeys and they responded very well. My friend, Mark Becker and I “doubled” on Friday thanks to the YELLOW YELPER call!!.
Nancy got her first one early Saturday morning and she got her second one early Sunday morning. The time spent in the woods with her and coaxing those reluctant turkeys to within shotgun range will be something she and I will remember/share for a lifetime . . . topping it all off it was our 35th anniversary!!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY NANCY!! We do more than just fish here at LINGER’S GUIDE SERVICE & FISHING LODGE. Book a trip and come share some stories!
How much fun is it to see a young folk get their first Turkey?! The Missouri Youth Turkey Season was last weekend and we were fortunate enough to have a successful hunter.
Jarret is his name and he is from Springfield. He was front and center on opening morning and with a little help from a relative he was able to get his .20 gauge on target and score his first Turkey. Hopefully this is just the beginning of a long relationship with the outdoors and all the fun and excitement that comes with it!
Jarrett with first turkey.
We are very lucky to have had a hunting lease for 16 or 17 years and it is experiences like Jarret’s that motivate us to continue keeping the dream alive for us adults as well as our children and grand children.

HOGS ALIVE……If you have not hunted feral hogs you probably should! Not only is it extreme fun but the meat is outstanding. The loins and hams especially and they are easy to clean/prepare.
LINGER’S GUIDE SERVICE just returned from a three day hunt rip at DENNIS CATTLE COMPANY. This was my fourth time to hunt there and as usual it was a blast. It so happens that the operator, Zach, has a helicopter and we shot from that again. What fun. . . 7 hogs and 7 coyotes in an hour.
You only live once. . . try everything you can. . . I have already booked dates for my wife and I to go back.
Year end success was a welcome treat. A group of us headed to our hunting lease in southern Missouri for the last week of deer season. It is a “special methods” season where you can fill any leftover firearms tag with a muzzle loader, bow, cross bow or center fire pistol.
We were there for a few days to end the season and what fun we had. We ended up killing six deer (missed two more), two Turkeys and two armadillos. Spending time at deer camp this time of year was an absolute bonus and fun was had by all!
Going back in two weeks to end Bow Deer & Turkey season then it will be back to fishing the White River and Norfork Lake. Come enjoy some of the fun we have here AT lINGER’S GUIDE SERVICE & FISHING LODGE….We can customize your trip so you can enjoy exactly what you want to do. Just let me know and we can work it out!!
